Pet Portraits

We have a special relationship with our furry friends. Paying tribute to them with a custom made portrait gives us a lasting memory of our best friends.

Here is a sampling of portraits

I usually work off of several photos of your pet to capture something that makes them uniquely yours.

Commissioning a Portrait

How it Works

I consider my portraits to be more of a caricature than a realistic copy of your pet. I try to capture the spirit and mannerisms of your pet - the things that make your pal so special.

I work from photographs that you send me. The more directions I can see your pet from the better but lots of times I work from a single snapshot.

Before I begin I have  you tell me about your pet so I get to know him a bit. It helps me  think of him while I'm working on the sculpture and trying to capture that special something. We agree on a pose for your pal and then I get started.

The process takes several months. I share a photo with you mid way - before the piece dries in case I need to adjust anything. Once it's dry it gets fired, glazed and fired again. Then it's ready to go home.

Pricing ranges from  $450 to $750 for single animal sculptures. We set a budget for the piece and once I receive a non-refundable deposit I begin work.

If you'd like to talk about a special portrait of your pet let me know and we can arrange a call to talk about it.
